KBFX - Skins Hello all, he're I am with a small look at a design again.
As you may - or may not - know, I followed the Kde-look entries for KBFX-Buttons right since the beginning, though I joined the team not that long ago. KBFX has changed a lot since the beginning, but it seems that the button designs had not - until recently.
Don't get me wrong, I love all those Vista-like, XP-like and Linspire-like button designs - I do also use a linspire-like button. For me, I wouldn't want anything else, for the moment. But what I saw on April 26th was quite impressive for me - the Piko Button... What is it, that it is so special and I even considered highlighting it here?
Well, if you look at those various and beautiful button designs, you'll see that they all follow function. Some only consist of an icon, some only of text, and some contain both. They all have a form of a rectangle, sometimes with rounded colors, sometimes with one or more peaks.
They all have either full transparency as background, or a closed shape. And they're all implemented really artistic.
That's where the difference of Piko comes in - There, the button shape of itself is art! I found it so impressive, so fresh, that it made me wish to see piko's desktop as a whole. Thank you, PikoPiko, for these nice designs
